Description
Kuripe made from Teak Wood
This kuripe is made from teak wood - a species that often shows a clear grain and subtle color variation. Compared to very light or very dark woods, teak tends to sit “in between”: it can carry a few tones within one piece without looking artificially colored.
Teak is typically recognized by its warm palette - from light golden-beige through honey browns to deeper, slightly darker notes, depending on the specific piece. After finishing, the surface becomes smooth while the wood structure remains visible. Over time, the tone may gently deepen and settle.
Because each piece is handmade, individual kuripes can differ in the grain layout, shade, and how strongly the tonal transitions show. With teak, these differences are often more noticeable than with very uniform woods.
They are most often chosen by people who:
