A kuripe made from dark Waru has a simple, classic form and a toned-down look. In this version, the material is clearly darker than lighter Waru batches, which makes the overall appearance calm and visually even.
About Waru wood
Waru is a hard and dense wood, typically stable in use. In darker batches, the color leans toward deep browns, sometimes with subtle, lower-contrast grain. After finishing, the surface is smooth, and the wood pattern stays natural without dominating the look. Over time, the shade can mature slightly and settle.
Craftsmanship and differences between pieces
Each piece is handmade, so small differences can appear in tone, grain layout, and minor finishing details. That’s normal with a natural material, especially with darker wood where subtle transitions can be more visible under light.
