Rapé Kuntanawa Tete Pava
Kuntanawa Tete Pawã is made with Strong herbs, Tsunu ashes and with the medicines Kawa Xinã and Kumã. In the words of the maker: “Kawa Xinã is a medicine that cleans our thoughts and brings tranquility. Kumã brings strength and firmness giving us direction in our spiritual studies. Rapé TETË PAWÃ is for spiritual elevation, calmness in our journey and gives concentration. It brings us the power of rebirth.” Tete Pawã is the indigenous name for the Harpy, one of the most sacred birds in the Amazon. It is a guide for the tribe's nd called the royal falcon (gavião real) in Brazil. This rapé is a special blend received by one of our favorite Rapé and handicrafts makers from the upper Jurua region. Highly recommended!

Who is the Kuntanawa tribe?
Like the Nukini, the Kuntanawa tribe nearly died out due to the latex cycle massacres. One family survived the rubber boom, and it wasn't until the early 2000s that a small group of Kuntanawa began to fight for their own heritage. Unfortunately, their culture continues to be threatened and the Kuntanawa struggle to regain full ethnic recognition and try to reclaim their territory.
Currently, only about 250 members of the tribe live in the Acre district of Brazil. To survive, Kuntanawa joins with other Pano language tribes. They organize festivals together, sharing their traditions, rituals and culture with foreign tourists.
